Kent International and Margaritaville Partner to Produce Exclusive Line of Bicycles

Licensing Agreement Brings Fun, Tropical Beach Cruisers and Road Bikes to the US

PARSIPPANY, N.J.--()--Kent International, the second largest bicycle supplier to the Mass Market U.S., announced today a three-year agreement to become a licensee of Margaritaville, LandShark, and It’s 5 o’Clock Somewhere brands, with plans to develop a line of co-branded adult and children’s bicycles, helmets and baskets.

Inspired by the lyrics and philosophy of singer, songwriter and author Jimmy Buffett, Margaritaville transports its guests to the island destination of their memories or dreams. Kent International will apply that essence of escapism and tropical spirit to the co-branded line, which will be distributed to all of its retailers in the United States.

This news comes on the heels of Kent International’s announcement that it has just opened a 200,000 square foot bicycle manufacturing facility in Manning, South Carolina, to supply Wal-Mart and other retailers with the first domestically produced bicycles sold in more than 15 years. The opening of the facility will contribute to the creation of more than 200 jobs by 2017.
