P.F. Chang’s Invites Diners to Satisfy Their Culinary Curiosity With New Menu Items Designed for Exploration and Sharing

Restaurants now offer small plates, sushi and extended “Hours of Happy” happy hour

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.--()--P.F. Chang’s, an upscale Asian-inspired restaurant with locations nationwide, is introducing a new menu featuring shareable small plates, hand-rolled sushi and an extended happy hour. The menu is an open invitation to diners to explore delightful flavor combinations and try and share new dishes that will satisfy their culinary curiosity.

“More than 20 years ago, P.F. Chang’s changed the landscape of American restaurants by introducing authentic Chinese cuisine to consumers in an upscale way,” said Philip Chiang, founder of P.F. Chang’s. “Today we continue to innovate with fresh, bold Asian-inspired cuisine that takes diners on a culinary exploration, and our new small plates and sushi are part of that.”

P.F. Chang’s Creative Culinary Chef Yuji Iwasa and Beverage Director Mary Melton are behind the new menu evolution, which includes hand-rolled sushi as well as inventive small plates and handcrafted cocktails. These new menu items also hold a lower price point as many offerings range from $5-$10 at most P.F. Chang’s locations.*

“This Asian-inspired menu offers an unexpected twist on P.F. Chang’s more traditional fare,” said Iwasa. “Our ingredients and flavor combinations were carefully chosen to appeal to a variety of palates but also win over the most discerning of diners who enjoy exploring and sharing new flavors. That’s why we created small, shareable plates like our Jicama Street Tacos—each delicious proof that P.F. Chang’s is always bringing something new to the table.”

A sampling of new menu items includes:

Asian-Inspired Small Plates … With a Twist

  • Jicama Street Tacos: Served in our signature crisp jicama shells
    • Pork: Lemongrass seared pork topped with a refreshing tropical pepper slaw
    • Kung Pao Chicken: Tender chicken strips wok-tossed in chili sauce with fresno peppers, chopped peanuts, and cool cucumbers
    • Lobster: Crisp, wild-caught lobster wok-seared with fresh cilantro and lime, tossed with shaved red onions and fresno peppers
  • Saigon Summer Rolls: Lemongrass chicken, julienne carrots, celery root, cilantro, peanuts, Thai basil and mint wrapped in cool rice paper with a sesame peanut dipping sauce
  • Chicken Satay: Flame-grilled, marinated chicken skewers infused with coconut peanut sauce. Served with Bibb lettuce cups and a refreshing vegetable slaw
  • Kale & Quinoa Dip: Kale, quinoa and non-fat yogurt blended with shallots, garlic, cilantro and lemon juice, and served with sesame seasoned wonton crisps

Sushi, Always Hand-Made Fresh to Order

  • Dynamite Scallop Roll: Our signature California Roll topped with seared scallops, finished with a creamy sriracha sauce
  • Lobster Avocado Roll: Wild-caught lobster hand-rolled to order with curry aioli and topped with fresh avocado
  • Kaleidoscope Roll: Fresh, sushi-grade Ahi, salmon and kani kama, avocado, mango, and cucumbers hand-rolled in rice paper with a light miso mustard sauce

Also joining the Chang’s Specialties menu is the new Chang’s Lobster Rice, a wild-caught lobster wok-seared and served over stir fried rice with shiitake mushrooms, fresno peppers, edamame and fresh garlic butter.

Extended Hours of Happy

Guests seated in the bar and patio can now try these new small plates and sushi offerings, as well as other appetizers and handcrafted cocktails during the new, extended P.F. Chang’s Hours of Happy, with specials served from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. every Monday through Friday at most locations.

P.F. Chang’s specialty cocktails bring a modern twist on classic drinks such as Red Sangria, Chang’s Mai Tai, Twisted Whiskey Sour, and the Organic Agave Margarita. Also new to P.F. Chang’s Hours of Happy menu is the Spiked Lemon Tea made with Cruzan® Mango Rum shaken with fresh lemon juice topped with traditional black iced tea.

P.F. Chang’s guests will also have the opportunity to enjoy seasonal drink specialties for a limited time starting May 10 including the Pink Cosmo, House Shandy with Kirin® Ichiban Lager and house made lemonade, or the Pinot Noir Rosè, Wente® “Small Lot,” Arroyo Seco (2014), a limited release wine.
