The Paper Kingdom Receives Awards!

WATERTOWN, Mass.--()--The Media & Dissemination Department at New England Research Institutes (NERI) is pleased to announce that the Paper Kingdom, a unique educational video game developed by New England Research Institutes, was honored as a finalist for the prestigious 2015 CINE Golden Eagle for Professional Media and received the Gold Award of Excellence in the 2015 Communicator Awards from the Academy of Interactive & Visual Arts.

For over 50 years, CINE has honored & championed the creators of exceptional media content. Paper Kingdom was recognized as a finalist in Employee or Consumer Training and Education in the Advertising, Marketing and Institutional Productions category.

The Communicator Awards is the leading international awards program honoring creative excellence for communication professionals. Founded 20 years ago, this year’s competition received over 6,000 entries from across the world.

“Video games are a preferred method of engagement for children, and we are committed to appealing to this audience through well-developed interactive and educational media based on high quality research,” emphasized Lisa Marceau, NERI Director, and Vice President of Media and Communications Research. The Paper Kingdom” is aimed at kids ages 8 -14 and helps dispel myths and misconceptions about medical clinical trials. The game was funded with a contract from NHLBI (HHSN268201200044C) and produced by Wisdom Tools, an instructional design company in Bloomington, Indiana.

The award-winning video game is part of the Children and Clinical Studies Program. The game is available on the Children and Clinical Studies website at the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI), part of the National Institutes of Health.
