DeNA Streamlines Instant Messaging with Dingbel for Apple Watch

Wearable App Provides Ultra-Fast Contextual Communication between Friends through Taps and Double-Taps

TOKYO--()--DeNA has launched Dingbel, an ultra-simple, non-verbal messaging app designed for Apple Watch that streamlines communication between friends by using tap and double-tap notifications. Quicker than text based mobile messengers, users can deliver contextual cues to friends by tapping the Dingbel app on the Apple Watch to send a “Ding” for “yes/positive” or double-tap to send a “Ding-Ding” for “no/negative.” Dingbel is available now as a free download on the App Store for Apple Watch and iPhone.

Dingbel will set a new standard in maximizing the immediacy wearables provide users while requiring substantially less input than smartphones to streamline messaging between friends who are aware of each other's situations through prior plans or conversations,” said Keisuke Kamijo, producer for Dingbel. “For example, two friends meeting at a concert can use Dingbel to alert the other if they have arrived by sending a ‘Ding’ or that they’re running late using a ‘Ding-Ding.’”

The Dingbel launch trailer featuring Mark Margolis (known for his role as Hector “Tio” Salamanca in Breaking Bad) can be viewed here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL_-cwn1VzhiNHwfYyfCjiyLBM5XT5585t

Dingbel is built for situations where a simple social cue is all that is needed to communicate a message. Dingbel users can find and connect with friends nearby or around the globe via Facebook to make contact quicker than emailing, calling or texting. Whether users are stuck in a meeting or are running late to an appointment, Dingbel is an easy way to connect when texting or calling is not an option.

Dingbel can be downloaded on the App Store for Apple Watch and iPhone.
