MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--International law firm Dorsey & Whitney LLP announced today that 109 lawyers in the Firm’s Minneapolis office will receive recognition from the North Star Program of the Minnesota State Bar Association for their pro bono work in 2014. Each of these 109 lawyers contributed at least 50 hours of pro bono legal service to the poor and disadvantaged in our community.
“Community is a Dorsey core value, and pro bono work is one of the most important ways we give back to the community,” said Eric Ruzicka, the Firm’s Pro Bono Partner. “Dorsey was an original signatory of the American Bar Association Law Firm Pro Bono Challenge back in 1993. Every year since then, we have surpassed the Challenge by devoting more than 3% of the Firm’s total billable hours to pro bono. The Minneapolis lawyers being recognized for doing more than 50 hours of pro bono in 2014 set a great example, but they are not alone. In 2014, Dorsey lawyers across the Firm performed a total of 37,309 hours of Challenge pro bono work!”
