SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Simply Hired, the largest independent job search engine with properties in 24 countries and 12 languages, today released its March 2015 U.S Employment Outlook. The new report shows that nationwide job openings increased 1.38% in March 2015 compared to the previous month. This follows a previous gain of 2.47% reported by Simply Hired for February 2015, and includes growth in most major metros, as well as a majority of industries and occupations.
“The Simply Hired Employment Outlook indicates ongoing strength in the job market heading into the spring months,” said James Beriker, President and CEO of Simply Hired. “Nationwide job openings grew 1.38% in March 2015 with broad gains across occupations and industries ranging from non-profit and healthcare through technology and travel.”
Additional key findings from the monthly Simply Hired Employment Outlook report include:
- Most major metros experience growth. Job openings increased in 21 of the top 25 largest U.S. metros in March 2015. Phoenix, AZ (4.85%), Portland, OR (4.04%) and Orlando, FL (3.60%) led the Top 25 in month-over-month growth.
- A majority of industries and occupations post gains. Thirteen out of 16 industries achieved month-over-month growth in March 2015, with non-profit and agriculture showing the largest increases. A majority of occupation categories (43 out of 53) also experienced growth in job openings in March 2015.
- Job inventory is highest in healthcare. Nearly one-half of the top posting companies in March 2015 were healthcare-related. There were also a significant number of job openings at financial services and technology companies.
- Metro highlight: Charlotte, NC. Simply Hired data identifies financial services, healthcare and retail as the top posting industries in the Charlotte metro region. The top posting companies in the area include Carolinas Healthcare Systems (#1), Harris Teeter (#2), Wells Fargo (#3), Lowe’s (#4) and Oracle (#5).
