BROOMFIELD, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Brother Mobile Solutions, Inc. (BMS), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Brother International Corporation and premier provider of mobile and label thermal printing products, announces that David Crist has been named as President of Brother Mobile Solutions (USA), effective immediately. Crist succeeds Kenji Nishimura, who was President for the past 5 years and will now take on new executive leadership responsibilities at Brother Industries Ltd. in Japan.
Kaz Ikeda, President of Brother International Corporation notes: “As President of BMS, Dave will lead the mobility division’s management, sales, marketing, product management and engineering teams to develop strategies to help us accelerate growth in this important and rapidly expanding mobile solutions market. Given the depth and breadth of his experience and keen understanding of this unique marketplace, we are confident Dave’s leadership will help us succeed in meeting our corporate goals.”
Crist adds: “This is a time of rich opportunity for Brother Mobile Solutions and our diverse lines of mobile and label printers ‒ and we intend to capitalize on it. Brother has a long and respected legacy of technology-driven printer innovations and is a leading force in the industry. Forging ahead in the mobile marketplace, we will continue to build on that legacy with top-quality people, partners, processes and products that deliver value across the wide spectrum mobile applications requiring unique and on-demand printing of high quality documents, receipts, labels and more.”
For the past three years, Crist has served as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Brother Mobile Solutions, responsible for driving sales, marketing, product management and channel strategies to build a customer base and revenues across key vertical markets. Crist holds an MBA in corporate finance from the University of Southern California and a BS in environmental engineering from Purdue University.
Building on the Brother Legacy to Create a New Vision
Crist takes the helm at a time when the mobile printer market faces an expanding world of mobile workforce solutions, as well as increased fragmentation and fierce competition. According to new global analysis by VDC Research, mobile printer revenues grew by 6 percent in 2014 to $290 million and are expected to increase to $371 million by 2016. The report goes on to note that it is chiefly the Americas driving this rapid growth rate.
Crist concludes: “Brother Mobile brings a unique perspective to the mobile printing competitive landscape. As part of a large global company, we have the big company resources needed to design, manufacture and market world-class products and back them with impressive global support. At the same time, we are small enough to be extraordinarily nimble and agile in proactively working with customers and partners to provide customized solutions for a wide range of diverse industries and applications. I am honored to be entrusted with the opportunity to lead Brother Mobile Solutions at this critical juncture.”
