(BMS), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Brother International Corporation and premier provider of mobile and label thermal printing products, announces that David Crist has been named as President of Brother Mobile Solutions (USA), effective immediately. Crist succeeds Kenji Nishimura, who was President for the past 5 years and will now take on new executive leadership responsibilities at Brother Industries Ltd. in Japan.

For the past three years, Crist has served as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Brother Mobile Solutions, responsible for driving sales, marketing, product management and channel strategies to build a customer base and revenues across key vertical markets. Prior to joining Brother, he had 20-plus years of management and executive experience with HP (Hewlett Packard) and Zebra Technologies. Crist holds an MBA in corporate finance from the University of Southern California and a BS in environmental engineering from Purdue University.
Building on the Brother Legacy to Create a New Vision
Crist takes the helm at a time when the mobile printer market faces an expanding world of mobile workforce solutions, as well as increased fragmentation and fierce competition. According to new global analysis by VDC Research, mobile printer revenues grew by 6 percent in 2014 to $290 million and are expected to increase to $371 million by 2016. The report goes on to note that it is chiefly the Americas driving this rapid growth rate.
