Waterford Approved for California EdTech K-12 Voucher Program

Waterford Institute’s Professional Development and Support Services Approved by California Department of Education

SALT LAKE CITY--()--The California Department of Education recently approved Waterford Institute’s professional development and information technology support services as an eligible provider for its Education Technology K-12 Voucher Program.

The program’s vouchers can be used to assist districts with implementing and supporting educational technology that fosters effective teaching and promotes student achievement in eligible schools that serve students in grades K-12. Vouchers must be redeemed by September 25, 2015.

Waterford is a nonprofit research center and maker of cloud-based early learning software currently used by more than 11,000 California students. Its professional development and IT support services help schools implement its learning software into the classroom effectively, and then maximize student gains by supporting teachers, targeting student needs and working toward school and district goals.

Waterford professional development is available in three easy formats: in-person training, virtual webinars and on Waterford Training Hub, an online portal available 24/7.

“Our work doesn’t stop when a school chooses to use our software,” said Mikkel Storm, Waterford’s VP of marketing and product. “We work hard to be a trusted partner, and believe schools should be able to get flexible, customizable professional development and support — when and how they want it, and at the right price point.”

Waterford was previously approved as an eligible provider for California’s Education Technology K-12 Voucher Program under education publisher and software distributor NCS Pearson, Inc. Waterford ended its partnership with Pearson in 2014 to directly distribute its software to schools nationwide and abroad.
