Russell Investments Boosts Global Team of Strategists Informing the Firm’s Multi-Asset Portfolio Management

Paul Eitelman joins from J.P. Morgan as Investment Strategist, North America

SEATTLE--()--Russell Investments has hired Paul Eitelman to serve a key role on its global team of investment strategists, whose research and views help guide the firm’s multi-asset portfolios and services for institutional and retail investors. Eitelman most recently served as vice president, senior economist at J.P. Morgan in New York.

Reporting to London-based Andrew Pease, global head of investment strategy, Eitelman joined Russell on March 23 in Russell’s Seattle headquarters.

“I’m very pleased that Paul picked Russell Investments as a career destination. Paul has a top-shelf academic background, has worked at the Fed and gained valuable experience as a senior economist for J.P. Morgan,” said Pease. “He is a strong addition to our global team of investment strategists.”

Pease’s global team of strategists—a component of Russell’s broader Multi-Asset Solutions team—is considered the backbone of Russell’s thought leadership in regards to investment outlook content and related recommendations for portfolio positioning. His team, for example, delivers ongoing market commentary, including the firm’s 2015 Annual Outlook.

At J.P. Morgan, where Eitelman worked since 2011, he focused on global macroeconomic research and analysis and developed sophisticated economic and market forecasting models. Earlier, he worked at the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System in Washington, D.C. He holds an M.A. in Finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

“We expect Paul’s keen research skills and strategic insights, particularly on U.S. market exposure, to benefit our investment process and delivery of multi-asset solutions to clients,” said Christophe Caspar, Chief Investment Officer, Multi Asset Solutions. “His role serves a key function within our multi-asset approach to investing.”

Eitelman fills a position previously held by Doug Gordon, who was promoted to senior portfolio manager, tactical asset allocation strategies. With his new responsibilities, Gordon serves on the firm’s growing U.S. multi-asset portfolio management team, working toward the delivery of successful investment outcomes that solve the real problems clients face.
