The Nation’s Top Medical Groups Support the Administration’s New Health Care Payment and Learning Action Network

ALEXANDRIA, Va.--()--The Council of Accountable Physician Practices (CAPP), a coalition of visionary medical groups and health system leaders that is an affiliate of the American Medical Group Association, announced its support of the Administration’s formation of a public and private sector network to guide the future of healthcare in the U.S.

Members of CAPP include some of the nation’s most progressive integrated medical groups, all dedicated to achieving healthcare that is connected, coordinated, and based on the latest research, for the benefit of all patients.

While the Affordable Care Act has extended insurance coverage to millions of Americans, there is still much to be done to improve access to quality healthcare and ensure that Americans receive the healthcare they need and deserve.

“Improving our healthcare system requires physician leadership and care coordination that enhances the well-being of all patients,” said Robert Pearl, M.D., CAPP Chairman, CEO of The Permanente Medical Group, and CEO of the Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group. “CAPP and AMGA members have pioneered many of the innovations that make healthcare better today. We are committed to seeing that all Americans benefit from this progress. We believe that physicians working together, backed by integrated services, systems data and technology, can shape and guide the way care is delivered so that the best interests of the patient is always the primary focus.”

CAPP is looking forward to contributing to the continued national dialogue led by Secretary Burwell around improving the quality and value of healthcare delivered to all Americans.
