El Camino Hospital and Satellite Healthcare Complete Joint Venture Partnership to Strengthen Dialysis Service Offerings for Patients and the Community

MOUNTAIN VIEW & SAN JOSE, Calif.--()--El Camino Hospital, an acute-care, 443-bed, nonprofit and locally governed corporation with campuses in Mountain View and Los Gatos, Calif., and Satellite Healthcare, a leading nonprofit dialysis-services provider headquartered in San Jose, Calif., with more than 30 dialysis centers in the Bay Area and more than 70 nationwide, today announced they have entered into a joint venture partnership designed to provide enhanced care to local residents with chronic kidney disease.

Five of Satellite Healthcare’s in-center dialysis and home dialysis therapy centers (Satellite WellBound) in the El Camino Hospital service area will serve El Camino Hospital patients, who will receive the high-quality care and services that are hallmarks of both El Camino Hospital and Satellite Healthcare. These centers are located in Los Gatos off of Los Gatos Saratoga Avenue, Mountain View off of El Camino Real, and two in San Jose, one in the Silver Creek neighborhood and the other across from Santa Clara Valley Medical Center off of Bascom.

“El Camino Hospital is taking important steps to secure continued access to vital dialysis services for the community in the near term and to meet expected demand in the future,” said Chris Ernst, VP of Communication El Camino Hospital. “We believe we can best increase operational efficiencies by partnering with Satellite Healthcare, which has focus and expertise in this area. This relationship will allow us to continue to serve patients in our community, and will benefit payors as well as patients as we apply best practices from both organizations.”

“Satellite Healthcare was founded by Dr. Norm Coplon, a Stanford University physician more than 40 years ago, and our commitment to making life better for people living with kidney disease hasn’t wavered since,” said Glenn Davis, Chief Innovation & Commercial Officer for Satellite Healthcare. “We are excited by the opportunity to collaborate with El Camino Hospital, which shares our commitment to innovation and to providing excellent and affordable patient-centered care to the local community.”

The centers will operate under the Satellite Healthcare name.
