Affiliated Workers Association Launched a New Short Term Medical Plan

ALLEN, Texas--()--Affiliated Workers Association (AWA), through its exclusive third-party administrator Homeland HealthCare, Inc., launched a new short term medical plan called Preferred Choice STM, underwritten by A-rated carrier National Health Insurance Company.

The new Preferred Choice STM plan is a perfect solution for individuals and families who need temporary health insurance. Whether an individual is waiting for the marketplace to open, a new hire in a waiting period, without insurance through their employer or cannot afford COBRA, this short term medical plan provides a bridge in coverage. Preferred Choice STM is available in term lengths of 6 to 11 months, depending on the plan selected with a variety of deductible options. The plan also includes non-insured benefits, such as 24/7 telehealth and a discount prescription program to help reduce health care expenses.

“AWA was excited to launch this new short term medical plan,” said Neil Peterson, AWA President. “This new plan further extends the insurance options available to our members, which is important with the changes that continue to take place with the new health care law. We look forward to launching more new insurance products that meet the needs of AWA members.”

Other plans available through AWA include gap, dental, vision and accident insurance through top-rated carriers with years of experience in the insurance industry.
