Adoptions Together Asks You to Open Your Heart This Valentine’s Day to Foster Children

WASHINGTON--()--Adoptions Together, celebrating 25 years of building and strengthening families formed through adoption, guardianship, foster care, and kinship, is asking that people open their hearts and consider adoption of needy children featured in their “Heart Gallery” this Valentine’s Day. The Heart Gallery, presented by Adoptions Together, features compelling portraits of 47 local children in need of adoption, taken by acclaimed local photographers.

More than 100 children have been adopted who have been featured on The Heart Gallery which is hosted by Adoptions Together.

This Valentine’s Day, Adoptions Together is reaching out to the community to come forth to consider parenting a waiting child. There you will find portraits of children in need of adoption who reside in DC, Maryland, and Virginia.

Every year more than 30,000 teens across the U.S. turn 21 without permanent families. Adoptions Together works tirelessly to ensure that youth in our area have the opportunity to find a forever family.

“Adoptions Together’s Heart Gallery highlights the need for adoption with moving photos of boys and girls, brothers and sisters — portraits that radiate warmth and life, energy and hope,” said Janice Goldwater, Founder and Executive Director at Adoptions Together.

The Heart Gallery travels around the area, since its launch at Union Station in Washington, D.C. The full Heart Gallery exhibit is currently on display at the Marilyn Praisner Center in Burtonsville, MD, at 14906 Old Columbia Pike. Also, The Heart Gallery is featured at the Children’s National Medical Center in DC, located at 111 Michigan Avenue, NW.
