VANCOUVER, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--SmartRG, maker of managed broadband and home networking solutions for broadband service providers announced today that Tim Bennington-Davis has joined as Vice President of Engineering to support the company’s growing portfolio of regional and national accounts. Tim brings more than 30 years of experience in WiFi products and technologies: product definition, design, marketing, program management and manufacturing of high-performance electronic test equipment. Tim joins SmartRG in advance of the launch of its carrier-grade, fully managed Gigabit 802.11ac products. His hire underscores SmartRG’s commitment to best-in-class performance and value in the broadband CPE marketplace.
Tim most recently served as Senior Director of Engineering at Ixia Communications, where he was responsible for leading software and hardware engineering groups in the development and delivery of 802.11ac product families. Prior to Ixia’s acquisition of VeriWave, Tim served as VeriWave’s Vice President of Engineering, leading the software, hardware, engineering and operations teams in the development, delivery, and sustaining phases of the VeriWave WiFi product family. Prior to joining VeriWave, Tim held engineering leadership roles with InFocus and Tektronix, both located in the greater Portland area.
