SPOKANE, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Ecova, the total energy and sustainability management company, today announced that Jana Schmidt has been named the company’s new president and chief executive officer, effective immediately. Jeff Heggedahl, Ecova’s president and CEO for the past five years, recently announced his resignation from the company.
Schmidt has been with Ecova for three years, responsible for driving revenue growth as head of the sales and client management teams. She also led operations for Ecova’s foundational expense and data management service. As president and CEO, Schmidt’s main priorities will be to further adoption of Ecova’s solutions in existing markets and to increase penetration into new markets. Ecova’s high performing energy and sustainability services identified over $800M in savings for clients in 2013. She will also focus on investing in new solutions that leverage the company’s unique data asset and analytics in support of clients’ goals.
“Jana brings a tremendous depth of experience in sales and client advocacy,” said Frank Demaille, chairman of the board for Ecova. “She has the management experience, passion and drive for results that will offer great value to our clients and the Ecova team. We believe industry convergence will enhance competitiveness and benefit clients, and Ecova is well positioned to maintain and grow its status in the market.”
"We also want to thank Jeff Heggedahl for his service over the past five years,” said Demaille. “Jeff led Ecova through a tremendous period of growth, both organically and through acquisition. He kept the company focused through a very dynamic period in its history.”
Schmidt joined Ecova three years ago from Harland Clarke Corp., where she served as the executive vice president of sales and marketing. In that role, she led a national sales, client management and marketing organization that provided innovative, market-driven solutions to nearly 11,000 clients in the financial services industry.
“Ecova has a strong team in place and I am so proud to be part of an organization where every employee has contributed to our market-leading position and believes in the valuable work we do for our clients,” said Schmidt. “The data we manage for our clients provides them with actionable insight and serves as the foundation for the programs necessary to reduce resource consumption and grow their bottom line. I’m honored to have the opportunity to now lead the Ecova team as president and CEO.”
In addition to her role at Ecova, Schmidt is on the board of directors of Junior Achievement of Georgia. In 2010 she was named one of the Most Powerful and Influential Women of Georgia by the National Diversity Council.
