LAS VEGAS--()--Celebrity Chef and Humanitarian Art Smith, the executive chef and co-owner of Table fifty-two, Art and Soul, Southern Art and Bourbon Bar, and LYFE Kitchen restaurants, will prepare an amazing feast for celebrity and amateur golfers Dec. 12–14 at the Brian Gay Invitational at the Diamond Resorts International® Mystic Dunes Resort & Golf Club. The event will raise funds for Florida Hospital for Children. Chef Art will host an intimate private luncheon on Saturday, as well as a family-style southern dinner for the Saturday Awards Banquet and Live Auction, featuring favorites from his Chicago restaurant, Table fifty-two.

No stranger to serving the celebrity-set, Chef Art has received the culinary profession’s highest awards and has cooked for some of the world’s most famous celebrities. In 1997, he became the personal, day-to-day chef to Oprah Winfrey, a position that lasted 10 years. Chef Art now coordinates and cooks for special events all around the world. Most recently, Chef Art has made several television appearances including ABC’s Lady Gaga Thanksgiving Special, Top Chef, Top Chef Duels, and two stints on Top Chef Masters.

A philanthropist, Chef Art has long been a supporter of children through his own charity Common Threads, a nonprofit organization teaching low-income children to cook wholesome and affordable meals which he founded in 2003.

“When Diamond Resorts International approached me to be a part of their Brian Gay Invitational I knew it was something I had to do,” said Chef Art. “I have worked with children for more than 10 years through my nonprofit organization Common Threads, so to be a part of an event that has helped support Florida Hospital for Children in such a tremendous way is an honor.”

Last year’s Brian Gay Invitational raised more than $410,000 for Florida Hospital for Children. As a company dedicated to the understanding that taking vacations is beneficial to people’s heath, happiness and relationships with their loved ones, Diamond Resorts International® presents events like these as an opportunity for families to spend valuable time together creating memories while at the same time helping others.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Chef Art as another of our celebrity participants in this weekend event,” said Michael Flaskey, executive vice president, chief sales and marketing officer, Diamond Resorts International®. “His involvement rounds out the group of accomplished athletes and musicians that have agreed to come out for a weekend of family-friendly fun, and allows Diamond Resorts to make a real difference in the lives of these children.”
