LONDON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Equal Experts ranked 2nd in this year’s Deloitte Fast 50 – a ranking of the country’s 50 fastest growing technology companies based on revenue growth over the last five years – which was announced last night at an awards ceremony in London. This is the second year in a row that Equal Experts has made the list, placing 9th in 2013.
“Equal Experts has grown from a £630K turnover to £23m in the last five years,” said Thomas Granier, Founder and Managing Director, Equal Experts. Frustrated by the constraints he saw in traditional software consulting for large businesses, Thomas founded Equal Experts in 2007 to pioneer a ‘hybrid’ consultancy model.
“Conventional software consulting is straddled with layer upon layer of hierarchies that stop people from making meaningful decisions,” explained Thomas. “Consultants are encouraged to stay busy just to cover overheads, even when the work they’re doing doesn’t add value to the client. You’ll see a couple of experienced people leading the team, while those involved in execution might still be learning on the job.”
Thomas has turned the model on its head by not hiring junior consultants at all and primarily using independent associates. This has allowed Equal Experts to keep overheads low and concentrate on more talent and less waste within the business. Equal Experts main competitors in the market are the much larger system integrators that offer a very different approach.
