MagicEvent.com Raises 1 Million Euros for Their Accommodation Website for Business Travelers

PARIS--()--After a first round of fund raising of 500, 000 euros in March 2014, the French start-up finalised their second round of funding at almost 1 million euros from private investors. They are also receiving financing from BPI (Banque Publique d'Investissement or Public Investment Bank) and are thus in a position to accelerate their growth and internationalisation.

Launched in 2014, MagicEvent.com is the first collaborative consumption website which is exclusively dedicated to business tourism. With a presence in the main European business cities (Paris, Hanover, Barcelona, London etc.),MagicEvent.com offers accommodation within the immediate vicinity of the major business centres and the major Convention/Exhibition Centres.

The site currently offers almost 2000 accommodations (apartments, studios, villas) in 25 cities and 9 countries. The goal is to reach 2,800 advertisements by the end of 2014, 30, 000 by the end of 2015 and 100, 000 by the end of 2016, covering all the major "business" centres in Europe and overseas (the United States and Dubai will already be covered by the beginning of November).

MagicEvent.com mainly targets business travelers who are traveling to an event and looking for an alternative to a hotel. This type of accommodation allows savings of 30 to 60%, not including the savings made on catering and transport.
From the outset, the website was fully designed for a business clientele, with a selection of accommodation which was curated based on comfort and amenities, an invoicing system designed for companies and insurance for tenants etc.

"MagicEvent.com will also offer a range of additional services to meet the expectations of business travelers, including transfers from the airport or the exhibition centre, organising press conferences or cocktail events, concierge services, ready-made meals etc. " explains Valéry Linÿer, CEO of MagicEvent.com"We are also going to develop white labels for exhibitions and international conferences, as well as for large companies who send their employees to their offices for training or partnerships ".

The start-up employs 15 people at their registered office in Grasse, Neuilly, Cologne and Madagascar for web development.

MagicEvent.com is a member of ACSEL, AFTM, Fevad, GBTA and VRMA.
The site has been nominated among the cream of the crop in e-commerce for 2014 by Fevad.
