COMPASS LEARNING® ANNOUNCES FINALISTS FOR $185,000 NATIONAL CLASSROOM REFRESH CONTEST

--Votes from Public & Guest Judging Panel to Determine Three Classroom Refresh Grand Prize Winners--

Compass Learning, a leader in learning acceleration, announced today the finalists of its first annual Classroom Refresh Contest. The 15 finalists, representing the top music video submissions from more than 120 entries from K-12 classrooms across America, will be narrowed down to three grand-prize winners in each grade category by a guest judging panel and through votes submitted by the general public on the contest site, www.classroomrefreshcontest.com.

The three classroom makeover prize packages include cutting-edge personalized learning software, hardware, professional development and support packages from Compass Learning, Education Elements, SMART® Technologies, and NWEA. Winners’ classrooms will be “refreshed” with education technology to help individualize and enhance instructional techniques and meet the diverse learning needs of students.

Videos will be judged based on overall creativity and spirit of the entry, effectiveness of expressing how the use of technology enhances personalized learning in the classroom, and the production quality of the video.

The finalists will also receive a one year annual site license for all students in the finalist school for Renzulli Learning™ Project-Based Learning and Enrichment Solution from Compass Learning and virtual Professional Development opportunities – a $5,800 value.

“These videos indicate how passionate educators are about the use of technology to meet the individual needs of each and every student in their classrooms,” said Eileen Shihadeh, Vice President at Compass Learning. “It was difficult to choose, but we found that these 15 finalists showed exceptional strength in creativity and spirit.”
