NEW YORK--()--Survey Magazine has named Maria Lange (Senior Product Manager, Retail & Technology, North America) and Art Rome (Associate Vice President, Product Development and Management, Health, North America) to its 2014 list of “20 Researchers You Need to Know.” The pair was chosen from among 131 total nominations submitted to the magazine by clients and colleagues.

GfK is one of only two companies to have two researchers selected for the Survey Magazine list.

Lange, a key client liaison for GfK’s pet retail point-of-sale (POS) panel, was cited as one of six “Future Leaders” – young researchers who have “real vision for what the future of market research looks like, and the energy and passion to move the organization in that direction.”

Rome, who focuses on developing innovative Health products in areas such as mobile and Big Data, is one of seven researchers selected in the category “Research Visionary.” He was praised for “chang(ing) how research is done in ways that clients need and want by combining what and why techniques.”

Lange works with major pet industry clients, including leading manufacturers and retailers, to help them stay a step ahead of changes in the marketplace by analyzing pet food sales in the Pet Specialty channel. Her Survey Magazine citation reads in part, “[Lange] is devoted to her work and finding ways to improve her own skills, as well as ensuring that her clients get maximum value and benefit from GfK’s information.”

Rome has been instrumental in creating a new methodology that illuminates purchase journeys by integrating passive behavioral measurement with event-based triggered surveys and tasks among the same respondents. His specialties include data analytics, project and team management, and bridging the gap between technical and non-technical research users.
