Electronic Recyclers International CEO Addresses Industry Leaders at 2014 E-Scrap Conference

ORLANDO, Fla.--()--John Shegerian, Chairman and CEO of Electronic Recyclers International (ERI), the nation’s leading recycler of electronics and e-waste, was among expert panelists for a group discussion on the state of the electronics recycling industry yesterday at the 2014 E-Scrap Conference held at the Rosen Shingle Creek Hotel in Orlando, Florida.

The E-Scrap Conference is the premier electronic waste recycling conference of North America and hosts industry leaders from around the world who network and discuss trends and challenges facing the electronic waste recycling industry today. This year, more than 1,300 attendees from 34 countries attended the event, making it the largest electronics recycling conference in North America.

Yesterday’s panel discussion, titled “Industry Executives Point the Way,” featured Shegerian and several other industry CEOs discussing the latest legislative trends, technological innovations and the future of the fast growing global electronic recycling industry.

Shegerian also discussed the promise of urban mining and our evolution from a linear to a circular economy in the ever-deepening pool of unwanted and used consumer electronics.

“It’s an honor to have been asked to participate in this year’s E-Scrap Conference discussion alongside my fellow industry leaders,” said Shegerian. “It is particularly rewarding to be communicating and sharing ideas with my fellow pioneers of this flourishing industry here at E-Scrap – where so many forward minded leaders of the electronic recycling world have come together to discover more about innovation and sustainability and have the opportunity to exchange ideas and experiences.”
