WHAT:

In his presentation, “The Shopper Journey Study: Understanding Today’s New Path to Purchase,” Tomei will share how digital, social and mobile media platforms are changing consumer and shopper behavior. His talk will include the results of IRI’s new and exhaustive Shopper Journey Study, which features insights into the new path to purchase as it relates to certain departments, categories and segments of the population and an assessment of the impact that each step in the process has on shoppers’ ultimate purchase decisions. Tomei will also include insights gleaned from actual shopper interviews, which will be shared via video clips.

 

WHY:

The traditional linear path to purchase is now obsolete for many departments, categories and certain segments of the population, and the shopper journey continues to evolve. Using the previously unreleased results of IRI’s new Shopper Journey Study, Tomei will explain how the changing digital landscape is impacting shopper attitudes and actual behavior. He will discuss how and where various shopper groups research products before purchasing, as well as how different categories, brands and retailers perform relative to the new consumer and shopper landscape and the evolving shopper journey. Attendees will learn to identify, validate and quantify the steps in the path to purchase for various consumer and shopper segments and categories and will gain actionable strategies for activating shoppers at each touch point along their unique shopper journey.
