CoreNet Southwest Donates $50,000 to Fund UT Dallas Real Estate Scholarships, Fellowships

Endowment presented to UT Dallas Naveen Jindal School of Management Real Estate Program

DALLAS--()--CoreNet Southwest, the North Texas chapter of the international commercial real estate association CoreNet Global, has announced it is donating $50,000 to the University of Texas at Dallas Real Estate Program to fund an endowment for student scholarships and fellowships. The CoreNet Southwest UTD Real Estate Program Scholarship/Fellowship endowment was presented at CoreNet’s third annual D CEO C-Suite Panel Luncheon Sept. 25th to Dr. Randall Guttery, Director of Real Estate Programs, for the UT Dallas Jindal School of Management.

According to Gensler Principal Ted Kollaja, the current president of CoreNet Southwest, CoreNet’s contribution was raised primarily through the proceeds of its annual golf tournament, which was held May 5th at The Old American Golf Club in The Colony, Texas. More than 100 golfers and tournament sponsor, The Colony Economic Development Corporation, participated in the golf tournament to raise money and network with corporate real estate executives.

“Our annual CoreNet Southwest Golf Experience is a great way for us to raise money to fund education programs for the next generation of corporate real estate leaders,” said Kollaja. “We hope to raise even more next year.”

The C-Suite luncheon at the Winspear Opera House featured a panel moderated by D Magazine Managing Editor Christine Perez with Ross Perot, Jr., CEO, Hillwood Development & Perot Companies; Calvin Carter, CEO, Bottle Rocket; Mike Naggar, Managing Director, Head of New Products, Barclays Bank; and Gardner Vass, Senior Associate, Perkins+Will. They discussed the importance of corporate real estate as it relates to the company’s strategic business objectives and the advancing role it plays for future success.
