Electronic Recyclers International Receives Indiana State Governor’s Award for Environmental Excellence

BLOOMINGTON, Ind.--()--Electronic Recyclers International (ERI), the nation’s leading recycler of electronic waste, received the prestigious 2014 Governor’s Award for Environmental Excellence in the Recycle and Reuse category.

The award, presented by Indiana State Governor Mike Pence, recognizes organizations that achieve a leadership standard of environmental responsibility in the recycle and reuse category. ERI provides electronic recycling services to every zip code in the country and maintains a state-of-the-art electronic waste recycling facility in Plainfield, Indiana, that is home to its e-waste shredding technology and proprietary glass cleaning technology.

ERI received its award earlier today at a ceremony held at the Bloomington/Monroe Convention Center, as part of the Association of Indiana Solid Waste Management District’s annual conference.

ERI Chairman and CEO John Shegerian was on hand to receive the award, along with his colleagues, ERI Recycling Specialists Larry Novicky, Ryan Whittaker and Michael Crean.

“It is an honor and a privilege to be able to provide efficient, responsible collection and recycling of electronics throughout Indiana,” said Shegerian. “To receive this one-of-a-kind award from Governor Spence is very inspiring, and we look forward to continuing to keep millions of pounds of e-waste out of Indiana landfills for years to come as we continue our growth and expansion in the great Hoosier state.”
