Black Public Relations Society of Atlanta Presents PRability 2014 Symposium

ATLANTA--()--The Black Public Relations Society of Atlanta (BPRSA) introduces the first PRability 2014 Symposium – “New World. New PR. New You” as part of this year’s programming theme, “The Next Big Thing.”

The leadership symposium will empower public relations practitioners and marketing professionals with career development by providing insight on: how to better communicate brand stories; identify what motivates consumers; strategies to win the hiring race, and tips on becoming a strategic leader in the 21st century workplace.

The PRability Symposium will be held Thurs., Oct. 16, 2014, at Junior Achievement’s Chick-Fil-A Foundation Discovery Center from 1:00-5:30 p.m., followed by a networking reception. Chick-fil-A is the 2014 presenting sponsor of BPRSA, committed to the professional development of multicultural public relations practitioners.

Modeled after TED Talks, nationally recognized experts will deliver the latest information on hot topics in the communications field during 30-minute presentations and a featured panel. Speakers and sessions include:

  • Donald Miller, The New York Times best-selling author and founder of Storyline – will present the keynote address on how to connect with audiences through storytelling;
  • Alicia Thompson, senior vice president for Edelman – will lead a panel of experts in discussions on how to raise your visibility in a sea of online resumes;
  • Michael B. Moore, founder of The Brand Farm and author of Bridging The Gaps, The Love of Marketing – will discuss how to elevate “value” with clients;
  • Mark Miller, vice president of organizational effectiveness for Chick-fil-A, and award-winning author of The Heart of Leadership: Becoming a Leader People Want to Follow – will inform attendees on shaping the next generation of leaders.

“We are excited to present Atlanta public relations practitioners with an exciting day filled with industry insights with some of today’s leading experts,” said Alexis Davis Smith, president of BPRS/Atlanta. “This conference will help local communicators advance to the next level in their careers – the way they tell brand stories; offer value and work with the generation coming behind them. In concert with our theme, this symposium is the next big thing.”

BPRSA Atlanta is working in partnership with Chick-fil-A, The Coca-Cola Company, the William Mills Agency and Junior Achievement’s Chick-fil-A Foundation Discovery Center to present the PRability Symposium.
