ARLINGTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The March of Dimes announced finalists for the 14th Annual Heroines of Washington. Formerly known as Heroines of Technology, the awards program will honor women in the D.C. region for their dedication to community service. For the first time as part of the event’s rebrand, nominations were open to women in more industries and not solely those working in technology. The awards program will honor and acknowledge the significant contributions of women in the area who exemplify leadership in volunteer community service.
This year’s finalists include women dedicated to transitional housing for young mothers and children, cancer patients and their families, breaking the cycle of poverty, and survivors of abuse among numerous other causes.
