Facial tracking software startup hires Rigging Supervisor from Oscar-winning Gravity to lead new London-based Content Division

ZURICH & LONDON--()--faceshift have hired Nico Scapel as their new Creative Director. During his career, Nico has pioneered techniques for procedural rigging, anatomy simulation, and performance capture on high-end CG creatures and digital actors. Nico’s previous role was Rigging Supervisor at Framestore, where he led the rigging team on 20+ VFX films including the Oscar-winning film Gravity. He’s also served in roles at Dreamworks.

In his new role, Nico will oversee creative development, including both internal and external production teams as well as management of asset creation from concept to developed product. He will be based in London, where he’ll also manage a new team of 3D technical artists.
