AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--HID Global®, a worldwide leader in secure identity solutions, today announced that its operations in Galway, Ireland, have completed certification to the International Standards Organization (ISO) 14001-2004 Environmental Management Standard. HID Global’s Ireland center is a high-security, state-of-the-art electronic ID (eID) credential facility that creates products for access and identification-related applications such as electronic passports and contactless swipe ID/access cards. It is the first HID Global facility to achieve ISO certification to this standard in Europe.

The ISO14001 standard is aimed at identifying and controlling an organization’s environmental impact and improving environmental performance. Organizations certified to the standard affirm to their customers, employees, and stakeholders that their environmental impact is continuously being measured and improved. Key focus areas include legislative compliance, pollution prevention, and minimizing the use of energy and other resources while exceeding customer expectations for environmental awareness and management performance.
