Saban Brands Appoints Doug Finberg as Senior Vice President of Marketing

LOS ANGELES--()--Saban Brands today announced the appointment of Doug Finberg as the company’s Senior Vice President of Marketing. In this newly created role, Finberg will provide strategic leadership for Saban Brands’ Marketing, Publicity, Creative, Promotions and Digital departments and a fresh brand management approach to the company’s growing portfolio of properties.

Finberg joins Saban Brands as an expert in business and marketing strategies and execution for entertainment and licensing companies. Most recently, Finberg served as Executive Vice President of Marketing at MGM Studios, where he oversaw marketing initiatives for the latest James Bond installment, SKYFALL, and THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY. This was the first time in studio history that two billion-dollar franchises were launched back-to-back. Prior to MGM, Finberg managed International Marketing at Marvel Studios, where he served as the resident theatrical marketing expert handling all marketing and distribution aspects for IRON MAN 2's day and date release around the world, as well as THOR, CAPTAIN AMERICA, and the initial launch of Marvel’s THE AVENGERS at San Diego Comic-Con.

In addition, Finberg previously worked at Paramount Pictures International, serving as Senior Vice President of International Marketing, and played an instrumental role as the studio reinvented its global footprint. Prior to Paramount, Finberg worked as an International Marketing and Creative Executive at DreamWorks SKG for nearly a decade, implementing campaigns as the studio built its developing brand portfolio.

“Doug brings a wealth of experience to Saban Brands that will directly apply to our expanding portfolio,” said Elie Dekel, President of Saban Brands, to whom Finberg reports. “His extensive experience in franchise management, consumer marketing and global theatrical motion pictures will bode well for our rapid global growth. We’re thrilled to welcome Doug to Saban Brands’ leadership team.”

“It is an honor to join this team during an incredible growth phase for Saban Brands,” said Finberg. “The company’s strong global brands along with innovative new projects and properties in development position the organization for advancement and success. I look forward to working closely with Elie and the team to continue building Saban Brands and taking it to the next level.”
