MIAMI--()--Mel Dick, President, Wine Division, and Senior Vice President, Southern Wine & Spirits of America, Inc. (Southern) — the nation’s leading wine and spirits distributor with operations in 35 states — announced today a donation to the Napa Valley Vintners Community Disaster Relief Fund to provide immediate financial support for those in the local community affected by the August 24 earthquake.

“Many of those impacted by the earthquake are not only residents of Napa Valley but employees and owners of the region’s wineries — many of whose brands Southern has the honor to distribute and sell. At Southern, we know the importance of giving back and supporting our partners in the business during their time of need, and we hope this donation will provide financial support to those families and businesses impacted by the recent earthquake,” commented Dick.

Russ Weis, General Manager of Silverado Vineyards and this year’s Chairman of the Napa Valley Vintners Association, concluded, “We thank Southern Wine & Spirits for their generous donation in helping our local families and businesses rebuild. The fund will provide much-needed assistance to Napa County residents and help businesses get back on their feet.”
