CEA Releases New Wireless Business Training Resource

ARLINGTON, Va.--()--Today the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)® announced the release of the Winning at Wireless Retail Guide, a comprehensive resource drawing on the experience of CEA partners, vendors and retail owners to train management and employees at wireless businesses. Commissioned by CEA’s Wireless Division, the easy-to-read guide includes input from leading executives at Best Buy, Brightstar, Celluphone, The Retail Outsource, Retail Business Development and Verizon.

Starting with the basics and drilling down into the details every wireless retailer needs to know, the Winning at Wireless Retail Guide is organized into four categories – Your Customer, Your Team, Your Store and Your Business – to help businesses create a more customized approach to retail engagement. The guide provides insights on creating a knowledgeable team through sound wireless retail strategies, including tips from the field, real-world examples and best practices from industry leaders.

“The wireless industry is constantly changing with the continued evolution of smartphones, tablets, data, mobile devices and marketing trends,” said David Inns, CEO of GreatCall and CEA’s Wireless Division chairman. “Whether you are an industry veteran or brand new to the wireless business, there’s always something more you can do, something new to learn and questions to be answered. This guide will help provide the insights you need, directly from some of the biggest names in wireless retail.”

Highlighting the wireless sector’s critical role in consumer electronics (CE) sales, smartphones and tablets continue to stand as the industry’s top two revenue drivers. According to CEA’s semi-annual industry forecast U.S. Consumer Electronics Sales and Forecasts 2010-2015, these products will represent 35 percent of total CE industry revenue in 2014 and continue to enjoy unit sales increases.
