MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Capella University (http://www.capella.edu), a regionally accredited online university* that offers online degree programs designed to help working adults advance in their careers, will host its 27th commencement ceremony on August 16, for more than 800 graduates who are expected to attend the event at the Minneapolis Convention Center.
Addressing the graduates will be Hill Harper, an award-winning actor, bestselling author and philanthropist. Harper starred on the CBS TV drama CSI: NY from 2004 to 2013. As of March 2013, he joined the USA Network spy drama Covert Affairs. He is the author of four New York Times bestsellers and he has earned seven NAACP Image Awards for his writing and acting. Mr. Harper is the founder of the Manifest Your Destiny Foundation, dedicated to empowering underserved youth through mentorship, scholarship and grant programs.

There will be two ceremonies for the commencement event. The first ceremony is at 10 a.m. for the School of Education, School of Business and Technology, School of Undergraduate Studies. The second ceremony is at 2:30 p.m. for the School of Public Service Leadership and the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences.
Capella will provide live and archived webcasts of the ceremony (www.capella.edu/watchcommencement) for graduates, family and friends who are unable to attend in person. Capella holds commencement ceremonies twice each year: in Minneapolis each August, and in another major U.S. city each February or March.
