Government and Industry Leaders Connect to Inspire Innovation at ACT-IAC’s Premier Event
The American Council for Technology and Industry Advisory Council (ACT-IAC) today announced the program agenda and keynote speakers for the 24th Annual Executive Leadership Conference (ELC). The two-day premier training and education event will stimulate dialogue between senior-level government and industry information technology (IT) executives to inspire “Leadership and Innovation in Radically Changing Times.” The event will take place October 26 – 28, 2014 in Colonial Williamsburg, Va.
“With the recent tsunami of disruptive technology, government needs to rethink traditional delivery models,” said Adrian Gardner, 2014 ELC Government Chair. “ELC 2014 will explore how the emerging collaborative federal ecosystem is transforming how, and with whom, people work – requiring agencies to adopt new approaches to carry out missions and provide improved citizen services.”
The event’s speakers and government-focused agenda feature leading experts from federal, academia, industry and the commercial world. 2014 ELC plenary speakers include Steven VanRoekel, Acting Deputy Director for Management, Office of Management and Budget, and Federal Chief Information Officer; Dan Tangherlini, Administrator, U.S. General Services Administration; and Frans Johansson, author of “The Medici Effect” and founder of the Medici Group.
What’s more, this year’s ELC will see the introduction of Collaboration ELC! – a highly interactive format that will change how attendees think about traditional conference methodology. With three distinct areas to recharge, network, learn, share ideas, gather and engage, this interactive approach will take crowdsourcing innovation to the next level.
This year’s educational program will focus on innovative tools, techniques and approaches to carrying out missions and providing services to constituents, featuring two dedicated tracks to explore Shared Solutions, Citizen Services and IT Service Delivery. The event will address how agencies and leaders can improve coordination from the lens of IT, Acquisition and Program Management and ensure attendees depart with practical solutions to implement towards their organization’s goals. The mission-focused tracks include:
Citizens Services Track – This track is determined to identify actionable ways for government and industry to improve customer service to citizens. Track sessions will dive into the differences between customer service and citizen service, the biggest barriers to providing citizen-centric experiences and case studies demonstrating best practices to overcome those barriers.
Shared Solutions Track – Panelists and attendees will address the fact that the current federal budget environment demands an increase in the sharing of service delivery solutions across federal and state agency providers. Sessions will investigate overall drivers – including leadership and program management, acquisition, and technology – that contribute to successful shared processes and service delivery applications that ultimately improve the citizen experience.

This year’s ELC will bring together 850 senior-level government officials and industry executives to collaborate and adopt new approaches to carry out mission-focused decisions and provide citizen services. Attendees will receive continuing education units (CEUs), Professional Development Units and Continuous Learning Points for their participation.
