GEICO hosting 'Stuff the Bus' school supply drive to benefit local schools

DALLAS--()--There's nothing quite like the exciting feeling of the first day of school with new pens, pencils and notebooks plus a bright new colored backpack. Members of the local community will have a chance this week to team up with GEICO to "Stuff the Bus" and help give area students that kind of excitement when GEICO hosts a community school supply drive.

It all takes place on Thursday, July 31, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., to benefit the Carrollton-Farmer's Branch Independent School District. The GEICO office is located at 4201 Spring Valley Road in Dallas, and the bus and activities will be stationed in the parking lot.

"We're really pleased to help support our local schools and our community through our 'Stuff the Bus' donation drive," said Bob Miller, senior vice president in GEICO's Dallas regional office. "Our associates are always so excited to rally together with members of the community to help support our local schools, so we're really looking forward to the event on Thursday."

Members of the community are invited to stop by, donate school supplies, receive some GEICO gear and enjoy shaved ice and other activities alongside the GEICO Gecko and associates in the office.

GEICO associates have been holding an internal associate school supply drive of their own throughout the month. All donations are stored in a bus and will be donated to Metrocrest Services, which will then distribute the supplies to schools in the Carrollton-Farmer's Branch Independent School District.
