CINCINNATI--()--Together with GE, Fifth/Third, Ernst & Young, Agenda 360 and the Women’s Fund, Cintas Corporation (NASDAQ: CTAS) co-sponsored Leading Cincinnati; Push Yourself/Pull Others, a forum aimed at promoting and engaging female leaders to push themselves, while helping to pull the next generation up the rungs of success. Held Friday, July 18 at the Cintas Center, the Diverse by Design event hosted approximately 300 local business leaders and fostered conversations around opportunities for Tri-State businesses to empower women at all stages in their career.

“It’s important to recognize and reward excellence,” said Todd Schneider, VP and COO of the Cintas Rental Division and member of the Cintas Women’s Business Resource Group (WAVE). “When people do well, they should know it and it should be celebrated and rewarded.”

Keynote speaker Andrea Ayers, President and CEO of Convergys, inspired women to fully engage themselves in the business world. When the venue experienced a brief power outage leaving the conference without lighting or microphones, Ayers continued her speech, giving an “electrifying” look into her journey to becoming only the 37th female CEO of a Fortune 1000 company to date. She used the event as an opportunity to highlight the importance of will and determination in order to overcome inevitable obstacles that appear throughout your career.

“We hope that the dialogue encouraged local businesses to rethink how they approach leadership and how they can encourage female participation,” said Cheryl Becker, IT Auditor for Cintas and member of WAVE. “We have witnessed the impact of this dialogue on business, the economy, and the community as a whole.”

Becker and more than 300 Cintas employee-partners who are members of the WAVE group are focused on engaging, inspiring, and developing female employee-partners not only at Cintas, but in the local workforce. They have worked diligently over the course of the past year to lay the groundwork for the group to begin creating strategic mentorships both at Cintas but also in the business community.
