ROCHESTER, N.Y.--()--Nalgene® has teamed with the Partnership for a Healthier America (PHA) in its Drink Up initiative, an effort that encourages Americans to drink more water, more often. Nalgene has designed an exclusive Drink Up reusable water bottle to help Americans drink more water in their everyday adventures, and will also feature the Drink Up logo on a variety of water bottles at major retailers.

“Simply put, Nalgene products are made for everyday life,” said Eric Hansen, director, Nalgene Outdoor Products. “We are thrilled to team with the Drink Up initiative with our new Drink Up bottle design -- from playgrounds to board rooms, reusable water bottles are easy to use and encourage more water consumption.”

On July 22rd, First Lady Michelle Obama continued her efforts as PHA honorary chairperson to encourage America to drink more water by hosting a White House event during which she announced Nalgene among seven new and renewed Drink Up supporters. The Nalgene Bottle took the spotlight on the White House lawn as the First Lady and children from the local YMCA and National Recreation and Parks Association centers gathered together to create a giant Drink Up logo made from Nalgene bottles.

“Drink Up’s mission is to encourage people to drink more water, more often,” said PHA Chief Marketing Officer Drew Nannis. “Part of that means making sure people have access to water wherever they turn. Nalgene’s commitment to and support of this important effort will help make that possible, making it easier for everyone to Drink Up.”

Nalgene has introduced a new Drink Up bottle design of its popular Nalgene Loop-Top bottles. Drink Up Nalgene bottles are available at nalgene.com. Nalgene donated 1,500 of these bottles to the YMCA of Metropolitan Washington for their 20th annual Thingamajig Invention Convention, an annual convention that provides children with summertime opportunities to challenge them intellectually and creatively while exploring the fields of science, engineering and design. Nalgene bottles are made in the USA from FDA conforming BPA-free and BPS-free materials. Simple and easy-to-use, every Nalgene design features only one cap and one bottle, is leak-proof and practically indestructible.

About The Partnership for a Healthier America
The Partnership for a Healthier America (PHA) is devoted to working with the private sector to ensure the health of our nation’s youth by solving the childhood obesity crisis. In 2010, PHA was created in conjunction with – but independent from – First Lady Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move! effort. PHA is a nonpartisan nonprofit organization that is led by some of the nation’s most respected health and childhood obesity experts. PHA brings together public, private and nonprofit leaders to broker meaningful commitments and develop strategies to end childhood obesity. Most important, PHA ensures that commitments made are commitments kept by working with unbiased third parties to monitor and publicly report on the progress our partners are making.
