Tony R. Weber to Speak at Women’s Energy Network – North Texas Chapter August 2014 Luncheon Meeting in Dallas

DALLAS--()--Tony R. Weber, Managing Partner and Chief Operating Officer of Natural Gas Partners (NGP) in Irving, Texas, will be the guest speaker at the luncheon meeting of the Women’s Energy Network (WEN) – North Texas Chapter on Tuesday, August 19, 2014, at the Dallas Petroleum Club, 2200 Ross Avenue. Registration for the event will begin at 11:30 a.m. followed by the luncheon from noon-1:00 p.m.

Weber will present a discussion titled, “Private Equity – How to Get Financial Backing from a PE Firm.” A question-and-answer session will follow his presentation.

Weber joined NGP in 2004 and serves as Managing Partner and Chief Operating Officer of the NGP Funds. As co-chair of the Investment Process Committee, he oversees NGP’s efforts in sourcing, structuring and executing investments as well as capital-markets transactions within the portfolios. He is also a member of NGP’s Executive Committee. Weber has deep industry relationships and experiences that are vital resources for the Firm. In addition to managing the day-to-day activities of the Firm, Weber also plays a key role in sourcing and managing NGP’s relationship with its investors.

Prior to NGP, Weber was the Chief Financial Officer for Merit Energy Company where he raised over $1 billion of equity commitments from investors and oversaw Merit’s financial operations, which included the management of the company’s banking relationships and capital markets activities. Before Merit, NGP enjoyed a strong relationship with Weber from his position as Senior Vice President and Manager of Union Bank of California’s Energy Division in Dallas. During his 14 years as a commercial banker, he was involved in the financing of more than $14 billion in energy transactions, including senior debt facilities, mezzanine debt structures, project financing and direct equity investments.

Weber received a B.B.A. in Finance in 1984 from Texas A&M University, where he is a member of the Dean’s Council and was a founding member of the Mays Business Fellows Program.
