American Association of Professional Landmen Announces 2014-2015 Executive Committee

Landman industry’s most influential association appoints new leadership

FORT WORTH, Texas--()--The American Association of Professional Landmen (AAPL) is proud to announce its 2014-2015 Executive Committee.

“The 2014-2015 Executive Committee officers are true stewards of the land profession, with more than a century of combined leadership within AAPL, their industry and their communities,” said AAPL Executive Vice President Marty Schardt. “It’s this depth of experience and commitment to our industry that will keep AAPL’s mission, our members and our Code of Ethics at the forefront of oil and gas development across the nation.”

Established in 1956, AAPL is the leading source of information and guidance for the landman profession. Each AAPL member commits to the highest ethical standards outlined in AAPL's Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice.

The 2014-2015 AAPL Executive Committee includes:

  • President Roger A. Soape, Certified Professional Landman (CPL) – Founder and President of Roger A. Soape, Inc. in Houston, Texas;
  • First Vice President Marc R. Strahn, CPL – President of The Wolf Haven Corp. and High Story Ventures, Inc. in Story, Wyo.;
  • Second Vice President Tom J. Havenstrite, CPL – President of T.S. Dudley Land Company, Inc. in Oklahoma City, Okla.;
  • Third Vice President William L. Porter, CPL – Land Manager at McClure Oil Company, Inc. in Midland, Texas;
  • Secretary Mark Eppes, CPL – Independent Petroleum Landman in Madison, Miss.;
  • Treasurer Bill Justice, CPL – Founder and President of TotaLand Technologies in Lafayette, La.; and
  • Immediate Past President M. Don Key, CPL – Senior Staff Landman of Continental Resources, Inc. in Oklahoma City, Okla.
