National Jack in the Box Franchise Association Hosts Annual Convention and Tradeshow in Whistler, BC

Conference Brings Jack in the Box Stakeholders Together to Build a Shared Vision for Success

SAN DIEGO--()--The National Jack in the Box Franchise Association today announced the completion of its 2014 Conference and Tradeshow held June 23-27 in Whistler, British Columbia. Themed “Partnering for Success”, the event focused on further building a shared vision between Corporate, Vendors and Franchise Owners to foster the brand’s continued success. Events included a golf tournament, Vendor Trade Show, guest speakers, and an awards ceremony naming this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award and Chairman Award recipients. Other sessions at the conference included: IT, legislative updates, Marketing updates, Strategic planning, and innovation.

“When we strengthen our businesses, we strengthen the Jack in the Box brand, creating a win-win for everyone,” said Anil Yadav, chairman of the National Franchise Association Board of Directors. “Our annual conference is an opportunity for franchise owners and the brand to gather together, collaborate and prepare to achieve new levels of success as we build on our common vision.”

The event included an awards ceremony which recognized long-time Jack in the Box entrepreneurs, Michael Flores, recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award and Terry Shindle, recipient of the Chairman Award.

Mr. Flores has been with Jack in the Box for 44 years becoming a franchise owner in 2008 and currently operates 22 Jack in the Box locations along the central coast and bay area of California. Mr. Shindle is the CEO and franchise owner of 121 Jack in the Box locations, located in Southern California, Illinois and Missouri.

“The award winners have demonstrated dedication and relentless energy toward the Jack in the Box brand,” said Reza Khajavi, President of the National Franchise Association Board of Directors. “These individuals have been essential to creating a culture of partnership and collaboration and we are pleased to honor them with these prestigious awards.”

The conference featured speakers including Jack in the Box Chairman, CEO and President, Lenny Comma and Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Jerry P. Rebel, among many others.

Key note speakers included Carlos Herrera, Chief Economist from Coca-Cola, Vince Poscente, renowned speaker and author and Juliet Funt, owner and founder of WhiteSpace at Work. These speakers shared their business insights and expertise on brand awareness and collaboration.

About the National Jack in the Box Franchise Association

The National Jack in the Box Franchise Association (JIB-NFA) is comprised of franchise owners in the Jack in the Box system. Its board of directors consists of 15 franchise owners with a combined ownership experience of 163 years.

Any franchise owner in the Jack in the Box system may join the JIB-NFA. Currently the association represents 100 franchise owners with more than 1,667 restaurants. The association was formed in 1995, and its mission is to provide a pathway for franchise owners to offer ground level input to Jack in the Box Inc. on initiatives and issues to benefit both franchise owners and the corporation. It is the organization’s stated intent to have a seat at the table as a partner with Jack in the Box Inc. and having a role in major decisions that affect franchise owners.
