New City of Fullerton Representative Seated on Metropolitan Water Board

LOS ANGELES--()--Multifamily property developer and owner Peter A. Beard was seated today as the city of Fullerton’s representative on the Metropolitan Water District’s Board of Directors.

Beard succeeds Jennifer Fitzgerald as Fullerton’s representative on the 37-member Metropolitan board. Fitzgerald served on the board since February. Beard was named to the board’s Engineering and Operations Committee, the Agriculture and Business Outreach Committee, and Special Committee on Bay-Delta.

Beard has been involved in multifamily property development and management for about 40 years. In 2007, he branched out as a consultant and project manager for major water distribution projects in Orange and Los Angeles counties.

Active in community affairs for more than 20 years, Beard has chaired Fullerton’s Infrastructure Committee and Design Review Committee and has served on the city’s Energy Resource and Management Committee. He is finance chair for Saint Angela Merici Catholic Church in Brea and is a member of the Fullerton Elk’s Lodge.

A Fullerton native, Beard and his wife, Marie, have four children.

The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California is a cooperative of 26 cities and water agencies serving nearly 19 million people in six counties. The district imports water from the Colorado River and Northern California to supplement local supplies, and helps its members to develop increased water conservation, recycling, storage and other resource-management programs.
