Exabeam Initiates Sales Push with Hiring of Former Imperva SVP of Worldwide Sales Ralph Pisani

Pisani will oversee all field operations, including sales strategy and execution as EVP, Field Operations

SAN MATEO, Calif.--()--Fresh off its recent $10 million series A funding round, Exabeam, a big data security analytics company, announced today the hiring of Ralph Pisani as executive vice president of field operations. Former senior vice president of worldwide sales at Imperva, Pisani brings nearly 20 years of experience in sales, sales management, and channel and business development to drive Exabeam’s field operations, business development and client services.

Exabeam recently closed a $10 million series A funding round led by Matt Howard at Norwest Venture Partners, including investments from Theresia Gouw at Aspect Ventures and angel investor Shlomo Kramer, CEO at Imperva. The funds are being used to continue developing Exabeam’s solution, which uses machine-learning technologies to complement existing security information and event management (SIEM) and log management systems to simplify security operations by focusing on attacker behavior rather than ever changing malware. The company is bringing on Pisani to address the growing interest and demand for this technology and develop new partnerships.

“Ralph brings his vast experience in cybersecurity and sales to play a key role on our team as we continue to grow and develop our technology,” said Nir Polak, CEO and co-founder of Exabeam. “With such a dense market, having an influential player like Ralph will elevate Exabeam above the noise as we help enterprises streamline their security intelligence operations.”

Prior to the six years he spent at Imperva, Pisani was vice president of global OEM sales at CipherTrust, Inc, having previously served in multiple roles, including vice president of channels and business development and regional vice president of sales. An investor in Lacoon, a developer of mobile security solutions, he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in business from Bentley College in Waltham, Massachusetts.

“Having seen the challenges enterprises face in protecting against modern-day cyberattacks and harmful data breaches, the market has been waiting for a solution like Exabeam,” said Ralph Pisani, executive vice president of field operations at Exabeam. “The company has an impressive founding team that’s applying big data security analytics to arm IT with the tools it needs, without having to rebuild monitoring infrastructure or hire teams of data scientists.”
