EyeMed Vision Care Launches Members App for Easy Access to Vision Plan Information While On-the-Go

EyeMed introduces the first member mobile app in U.S. managed vision care benefits

CINCINNATI--()--EyeMed Vision Care, America’s fastest growing vision benefits company, announces a first for its industry -- a new mobile member app that makes it easy for EyeMed’s 36 million U.S. plan members to quickly access vision plan information and a digital copy of their member ID card or locate network eye care providers using an iPhone or iPad.

The free “EyeMed Members” app is now available online through the Apple® iTunes® store for iPhone®, iPad® and iPod Touch® users.

And when they use their benefits, they can appreciate how healthy vision and a great pair of new eyeglasses or contacts can help them be their best selves at work, at home and in the community.”

Most aren’t going to remember what vision benefits they’re eligible for and we know from our call center and from activity on our site that many members have lost track of their ID cards when it’s time for an eye exam or a new pair of glasses. With the new EyeMed app all the information they need about their vision benefits will be right at their fingertips. EyeMed plans to launch a version of the app for Android devices soon. The current version is compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, requires iOS 6.1 or later version, and is optimized for iPhone 5. It syncs with EyeMed member accounts so members can also view information on the EyeMed.com website and EyeMed mobile member website.

“EyeMed designed the initial app to include features that our market research indicates members would appreciate most. Additional upgrades are planned for release over the next several months,” Montague said.

Key EyeMed app features:

  • Log in to view your EyeMed ID Card, benefits and eligibility status;
  • No need to log in on a PC to locate an EyeMed network provider. Use your smart phone app to search the network list and get turn-by-turn directions from your current location, or click to call;
  • Get answers to common questions and/or EyeMed customer care contact information.
