Survey Reveals Great Ratings for Hotels in Seattle

SEATTLE--()--Overnight visitors to Seattle are most often quite happy with their hotel choice. According to a recent survey from TravelMag.com, hotels in the largest city in the state of Washington are among the best rated in the United States.

The survey compared 30 important destinations in the United States using the customer reviews their hotels have received over the past 12 months as the basis of comparison. More specifically, TravelMag.com compiled all reviews of 3- and 4-star hotels posted by guests following their stay on the hotel booking site Expedia. These reviews were then categorized into either positive, neutral or negative assessments to come up with an overall ranking.

In Seattle, 70% of all 3-star and 81% of all 4-star hotel reviews have been positive over the last year. On the other hand, only 11% of 3-star and 6% of 4-star hotel guests have been disappointed with their accommodations. Overall, hotels in the Emerald City rank third best among the 30 destinations analyzed by the survey.

Only Philadelphia and Portland performed slightly better than Seattle, taking the number one and two spots, respectively. Meanwhile, Las Vegas and Miami clearly ranked at the very bottom of the list. Indeed, fewer than 50% of customers staying in a 3-star hotel in these two cities have been happy with their hotel over the past 12 months.
