NASHVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee has appointed Danny Timblin to serve as President and CEO of Onlife Health, the company’s wellness subsidiary.
Timblin will lead Onlife in its mission to transform lives through engagement in healthier living.

The move represents a return for Timblin who was part of the original leadership team which guided BlueCross’ strategic relationship with Onlife eight years ago.
Timblin joined BlueCross in 2006 to support the company's corporate development department, overseeing strategic investments and acquisitions. In 2007, he was promoted to director of strategic services and a year later was appointed vice president and treasurer. In 2012, Timblin was named vice president of strategy and execution, reporting directly to the president and CEO-elect.
In these roles, he has overseen corporate strategy and development, investment management, operating and capital budgeting, corporate planning and forecasting, and enterprise-wide operational excellence initiatives.
Most recently, Timblin served as CFO of NaviNet, a leading health care communications network and technology company based in Boston.
Prior to joining BlueCross, Timblin gained significant experience in the United States and overseas by supporting the corporate development activities of several multi-national corporations, including Lucent Technologies, OFS Fitel (a division of Furukawa Electric of Japan) and Deutsch Bank.
Timblin holds a bachelor's degree in accounting and business administration from the University of Kansas and studied at the London School of Economics. He holds an MBA from Georgia State University, where he earned Beta Gamma Sigma honors.
