tripBAM Partners with Concur to Drive Hotel Savings for Corporations

tripBAM’s hotel shopping services will be available to 23 million business travelers

DALLAS--()--tripBAM™, the new online hotel shopping service, partnered with Concur to broaden the reach of its technology to thousands of corporations. With hotel rates rising, Concur’s corporate clients can gain access to tripBAM’s cost-saving service, which uses patent-pending “cluster” shopping processes to find savings on more than 60 percent of hotel groups searched.

tripBAM delivers average hotel rate savings of more than $50 per night. Concur is the leading provider of integrated travel and expense management, working with hundreds of multi-national firms and thousands of mid-size corporations.

TravelClick’s North American Hospitality Review in April examined hotel bookings made for the next 12 months and found that transient hotel bookings are up 7.7 percent, with the average daily rate increasing by 4.8 percent. Corporate travel programs are increasingly challenged in this environment to find new savings and strengthen their hotelier agreements to keep increases minimized.

“tripBAM offers Concur’s clients a new avenue to increase use of preferred hotel suppliers,” said tripBAM CEO and founder Steve Reynolds. “Beyond cluster shopping of preferred hotels in large markets, use of this technology can also markedly reduce the need for RFPs and other administrative tasks in secondary cities. Automated notices to travelers and travel arrangers help all travelers take advantage of significant savings opportunities.”

“Our partnership with tripBAM helps strengthen our travel ecosystem for our business clients,” said Jigish Avalani, SVP & GM, developer services, platform services of Concur. “We are pleased to add tripBAM to our growing set of services that make the ‘The Perfect Business Trip’ a reality.”

Working in conjunction with Concur Travel and their designated travel management company (TMC), Concur’s corporate clients will be able to automatically have their hotel bookings shopped in a cluster of similarly-rated preferred hotels to find lower rates. Ultimately, tripBAM will enable the capture of policy compliant and out-of-policy hotel bookings. Fulfillment of the eventual hotel reservation can be done via tripBAM or the Concur client’s TMC.

Four of the top ten corporate travel management companies in North America kicked off pilot programs with tripBAM in the first quarter, along with several multi-national firms. tripBAM’s transactions grew 93 percent in the first quarter over traffic from the last three months of 2013.
