NEW YORK--()--Lonny, one of the first digital home and design magazines, will debut a completely redesigned issue format today. Lonny.com continues to be a category leader among digital shelter publications offering unparalleled breadth and depth of coverage in all aspects of home and design. Touted as one of the most innovative shelter titles of the last decade, Lonny is known for its exclusive home tours, exquisite original photography, coverage of new and noteworthy trends, and its focus on “accessible design.”

Lonny's new look is built around a state-of-the-art user interface featuring: an animated “cover” (Cindy Crawford is on the May Issue), a visual index which allows readers the option to navigate with imagery, single-column content pages that fill the width of browser windows, a table of contents icon on each page to quickly jump around each issue, and more. The ease of this enhanced navigation lets readers explore the site in a way that’s as forward thinking as the content they are reading. And its responsive user interface works well on all mobile devices.

"This is about taking full advantage of the latest web publishing technology—which has always been our mission. Lonny came out of the gate as a pioneer in the digital shelter category and we’re continuing on that path with this new design," said John Newlin, VP of Content at Livingly Media. “We wanted to completely reimagine the digital magazine experience and deploy it on our custom publishing platform. The result is a collaboration between some of the best web developers in Silicon Valley and the most passionate and talented home and design editors in New York."

“The sense of motion is an important part of the new design; from video to animated type to the very act of scrolling from story to story,” said Irene Edwards, Executive Editor of Lonny. “The subtle movement brings the experience to life and adds a depth and texture to the issues. This is by no means ‘finished,’ either. We’ll be adding new features and functionality. I think our director of engineering, Cleve Pasarell, said it best: ‘This is not so much a new platform as it is a springboard.’”
