MyDream One Step Closer to Reality as Massive Community Generated 3D Multiplayer Sandbox Game Meets Kickstarter Goal

Games Surpasses $100,000 in Pledges;
Open-World Environment Allows Players to Dream and Create Any Adventure Imaginable

SAN FRANCISCO--()--MyDream, the ambitious 3-D multiplayer sandbox game that provides players with the freedom to create, learn and dream, is one step closer to market with today’s announcement that the game has surpassed its Kickstarter goal of $100,000 in pledges in only days. The incredibly fast funding demonstrates the excitement for the title and its potential to deliver a new kind of social game that utilizes the power of the sandbox.

MyDream allows players to experience unlimited, user-created adventures that are not only fun, but actually enhance real-life skills such as creativity and collaboration. Currently in very early private beta testing and by invitation only, MyDream with its realistic graphics, brings together gaming genres including sandbox, RPG and adventure to create a new type of open-world gameplay experience where MyDreamers can create and explore any adventure imaginable.

“We are so grateful for the public’s belief in MyDream and the rapid nature of meeting our Kickstarter goal validates the huge demand for a game of this type,” said Allison Huynh, CEO of MyDream. “This is the latest milestone in the journey to bring MyDream to market and we are eager to show the world our final vision as we re-write the rule book regarding how user-created games can look, feel and play.”

The public backers log on MyDream’s Kickstarter campaign is a who’s who in Gaming, Learning and Social Networking: include Dave Needle, designer/inventor of the Commodore Amiga; Bart Decrem, founder of Taplulous (acquired by Disney) and game designer for Where's My Water, Temple Run and Tap Tap; Kellee Santiago, co-founder and CEO of thatgamecompany which produced the 2013 Game of the Year: Journey and the indie hit: Flower; Jim Sachs, lead artist/designer of Defender of the Crown, one of the most advanced graphics game in the 1980s; Anne McCormick: founder of the Learning Company and serial edtech/games entrepreneur; Jack & Tricia Herrick: founders of eHow and wikihow and many more.

MyDream, which already features over 4.3 million user-generated 3D voxel objects, promotes adventure, creation, and cooperation where the possibilities are only limited by the players’ imaginations. More than just a game, MyDream is a community built on principles. The game rewards players not only for their ability as a gamer, but for their contribution to the game and its players. From day one, it’s a 3D social game, so a friend can log in and play with another friend with no setting up servers like Minecraft. Players just select their “dreamworld” experience or create a new one and it’s already connected for up to 20 friends.

The Kickstarter campaign will continue until April 12. All Kickstarter donors of $5 or more will receive private beta access to the game and access to game wiki site, which allows players to shape the future of the game. In addition, new “stretch” goals on Kickstarter have been announced that will help add elements to the game including general Survival Mode, a rock creature breeding system, a tower defense system, a voxel vehicle creator and more. MyDream plans to bring on a full-time game designer with these funds, and he/she will work closely with the community to flesh out the details of these stretch goals. This may be one of the first, truly, community-generated game that is also designed by the community--with access to top game designers who will help to filter and bubble the best ideas forward.

Kickstarter Details and Availability

MyDream’s Kickstarter offering is available at: www.mydream.com/kickstarter. MyDream is continuing to seek support to complete the development of the game and make its vision a reality. Unlike other projects on Kickstarter, MyDream already has substantial technology. It has a realistic 3D terrain engine that allows for user generated content in the first view. The game is connected and networked from day one and a very early private beta is available on the PC. The stretch funding goals will allow them to hire a full-time designer to help craft the ultimate game for backer community. This is a once in a lifetme opportunity for a “regular” lay person to play the role of “game designer” and have their ideas implemented.

Currently the only way to access MyDream and participate in the private beta program is to contribute to its Kickstarter campaign. For a $5 pledge, contributors will receive a VIP code to access the private beta of the game. Additional rewards include one and two year subscriptions, pet rock monsters, boots to help players run faster, a metal detector and X-ray vision to find hidden treasures, and wings that will allow players to soar through the dream world like an eagle.
