Voxer Business Announces Support for Windows Phones

Live audio messages, text and picture messages, geo-location capabilities now optimized for business users on Windows Phone 8

SAN FRANCISCO--()--Voxer, a pioneer in push-to-talk (PTT) and multimedia messaging, today announced extended support for its enterprise-grade platform, Voxer Business, now optimized for Windows Phone 8. For companies who have employees with Windows Phone devices, it is now possible to communicate in the company’s private network using the app, which is now available for download in the Windows Phone Store.

The introduction of Windows mobile devices, coupled with its increasing number of users, has led Voxer to create a product specifically tailored to the Windows Phone 8 interface. Windows users can now communicate in a private company network with Voxer Business, using the existing Voxer application available in the Windows store and by signing in with their Voxer Business credentials. Available features include live and messaged audio, text, photos and location sharing along with individual and group chats created on the device. New features additions on the business side now provide Windows users full access to predefined teams (group distribution lists) that have been organized through the Voxer Business Manager for easy one touch communication with a specific department or the entire company.

As the first Windows app released for Voxer Business users, the service is equipped for the Windows Phone 8 operating system. To sign up, a company must set up an account with Voxer Business and employees who use Windows Phones are given access to the team-based communication available. A user is sent an email, and then needs to verify the account, create a password and download the Voxer app on their device. Voxer for Web, which gives users the ability to access Voxer from their desktop browser, will now also support Windows for IE9 and up.

“To accommodate the growing mobile workforce and the expansion of the Windows Phone device market, we wanted to be sure we continued to ensure support of the full umbrella of leading mobile OS providers,” said Irv Remedios, head of product at Voxer. “By introducing support for Windows Phone 8 we are fulfilling our core mission to create a reliable, efficient communication platform for businesses around the globe.”
