NCKU to Host Job Fair for Southern Region

TAINAN, Taiwan--()--More than 13,000 job opportunities will be offered by nearly 190 domestic and foreign companies during the two-day job fair in Tainan, according to National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), Tainan, Taiwan, where the Southern Region Job Fair will take place on March 15th and 16th.

21 celebrated companies will conduct briefing sessions at the NCKU International Conference Hall on the first day of the event, while the second day will feature approximately 189 domestic and foreign companies setting up 234 booths at the NCKU Chung Cheng Hall with an estimated 13,216 job opportunities available.

The fair will cover all major areas including semiconductor, electronics, electrical, optical, finance, education, real estate and so on, with the firms including TSMC, UMC, Foxconn Precision, Innolux, Largan Precision, IBM, Asus, Yulon Group, China Motor, Formosa Plastic, Uni-President, China Trust, First Bank, Fubon, Commonwealth Magazine.

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), United Microelectronics Corporation (UMC), Innolux and other large firms have also taken the recruitment very seriously by setting special areas for interview on March 16th.

“Although job fairs in Northern Taiwan might have more job offers, Southern Taiwan provides a better working environment with relatively similar benefits and compensation for jobs on both sides due to the its relatively low cost of living, pleasant climate and kind and caring people,” said NCKU President Hwung Hwung-Hweng.

President Hwung encourages job-seeking young people to work in the south, pointing out that it is easier to buy a house and lead a healthy, happy life in the south.

“The Southern Region Job Fair organized by NCKU is always the most successful and most attractive talent recruitment event every year,” praised Chen-Yang Shih, Director of the Yunlin-Chiayi-Tainan Region Branch of Workforce Development Agency.

It is noteworthy to mention that TSMC, UMC and Innolux has not only set up specially designed booth for the job fair on March 16th, but also prepared a special area for on-the-spot job interview.

According to reports, TSMC is expected to offer 3000 to 5000 quality job opportunities on that day while mobilizing 25 executives and providing preliminary evaluation of online resume, interview and English test for job applicants.
