SANTA CLARA, Calif.--()--Memoir Systems Inc., today announced that its Renaissance for Datacom product has been selected as a finalist for the 2014 ACE Awards, presented by EE Times and EDN. The 2014 ACE Awards showcase the best of the electronics industry, including the hottest new products, start-up companies, design teams, executives and more. Memoir is the only start-up selected in the Ultimate Products - Logic/Interface/Memory Category. Other finalists in the category include industry leaders Inphi, IDT, Maxim Integrated, NXP Semiconductor, Rambus, and Silicon Image. Winners will be announced at the event taking place on Tuesday, April 1st at the Fairmont Hotel, San Jose during EE Live! Conference.

“We are honored to have been selected as a finalist for the 2014 ACE Awards,” said Sundar Iyer, Co-founder and CEO at Memoir. “This recognition echoes the excellent response we are getting from customers. Since product release in fall 2012 we added 17 new customer licenses, including three for the recently announced Renaissance for Datacom. There is clearly a growing demand for multiport sub-system memory that has been exhaustively verified in advance, and gives the same guarantees as working silicon.”

2013 was a pivotal year for Memoir with revenues tripling since 2012. In Q4 2013 Memoir achieved profitability for the first time, marking a key milestone for the four year old start-up. To date, the company has shipped production licenses for several hundred unique instantiations of multiport sub-system memories for advanced processes from 40nm down to 16nm. Its Renaissance product line of multiport sub-system memories has gained traction with leading ASIC and ASSP suppliers and major OEMs. Memoir’s customers include industry leading network and cloud infrastructure OEMs, the top three ASIC vendors, and multiple top tier ASSP vendors.

About Renaissance for Datacom

Internet and cloud services such as Netflix, Hulu, iCloud and Gmail are pushing the limits of the underlying semiconductor technology used to build the data communication infrastructure. Memoir's Renaissance for Datacom family of multiport sub-system memory generators enables SoC architects to push the performance envelope of their next generation multi-terabit networking products. Developers can rapidly create ultra-high performance memory solutions for network switches and routers, datacenters, cloud infrastructure, storage, and software defined networks (SDN) that require performance of a terabit and beyond, or up to 16 billion memory operations per second (MOPS) in a 28nm process.

About Memoir Systems, Inc.

Memoir Systems, Inc. is a provider of breakthrough memory technology that is delivered as Semiconductor Intellectual Property (SIP). Memoir’s revolutionary approach to memory design shortens the time required to develop new memories, and can increase the performance of existing memory macros by up to 10X more Memory Operations Per Second (MOPS). The company’s Renaissance family of products provides drop-in replacements for existing embedded memories. These new memories offer increased performance or reduced area and power consumption without sacrificing performance. Memoir’s technology is optimized for a particular process, node, and foundry and integrates seamlessly into any existing SoC design flow. Since the introduction of the company in October of 2011, Memoir Systems has received several industry accolades and awards including: winning a DesignVision award at DesignCon in February 2012; named to EE Times “Silicon 60” list of emerging start-ups in April 2012 and named as A Red Herring Top 100 North America Tech Startup in May 2012.
